Vanderbilt Hotel

The Vanderbilt Hotel is situated in the charming town of Newport, Rhode Island, which is famous for its historical significance. This hotel reflects the town’s rich history as it was once a popular summer destination for the country’s wealthiest people. The hotel boasts Georgian-style architecture, and it was built for one of two controversial stories. Some people believe that Alfred Vanderbilt started the construction of the building to make it a home for his mistress. However, after her death in 1909, the structure was donated to the YMCA once it was completed. Despite the different theories regarding the purpose of the building’s construction, history has preserved it as an important YMCA center for many years. Today, the hotel has been restored to its original Georgian-style architecture. With its vibrant colors, modern facilities, and a straightforward approach to traditional design, the hotel now pays homage to its past. As part of the renovation project, we designed model rooms that would be constructed based on the current design.
