The Offutt Center for Innovation and Art

The Weston Public Library in the heart of Weston, CT has been chosen as the location for the Daniel E. Offutt Center for Innovation and Art. Designed as a contrast to the existing vernacular style, the modern addition is inviting the visitor with its glass gallery on its north side. The library’s intention to expand their program offerings into arts, crafts and technology will be realized through the new open, sunlit, and airy space. The two-floor 6,500 sf center offers dedicated “dry and wet” areas. The space allows for maker programs for all ages designated for specific artforms. This includes a painting studio, a digital lab with 3D printers, robotics, and a recording booth, as well as an area to exhibit completed work. The hosting of exhibitions in the open, atrium-like gallery space will become a new cultural designation for the town of Weston. The new library wing will be situated on the north side of the main building, toward the back, connected by the atrium. The existing library community room will be updated as part of the plan to offer a state-of-the-art layout with stage and sound equipment for concerts and other community centric events.

“I cannot say enough to praise Hanna’s timeliness, attention to detail, responsibility acceptance and client service. She’s a 15 out of 10!
I can only say that I felt perfectly comfortable making Hanna my “go-to-person” in Weston/Westport in the library project as well as any other matters where I wanted an eye and ear, advice, and counsel.
Hanna is one of the great benefits of the Trust.
